This wasn’t like any foreplay Danny ever remembered. Leo’s hands were insistent, more searching than roaming, determined to seek out injury and sliding over his skin. The majority of it felt nice, like some unseen force working to scrub off layers of pain he hadn’t even fully realized yet. Hell, a psuedo-massage from almost anyone would feel alright, magic uninvolved.
Leo’s throat bobbed as half a water bottle ended up drained, and he found himself sitting upright in time to be handed one of his own. A cursory look had him holding it up to the nearest available light. “It’s just water, right?” The bottle was shaken. “Nothing…fancy? No herbs, no mojo?” Regardless of the answer, he twisted the cap and tilted it back, almost groaning as it hit the back of his almost-healed throat. Before he really knew it, he’d downed the majority of it in a single go, tilting it back down to swish what little was left around the bottom. “Huh.” And down the rest went.
”Yeah, the fire.” The memory was clearer now, more comfortable to walk through once a bit more removed (but still relatively terrifying, in concept). “Stone grabbed my ankles, water rose from the ground, the sky cracked with lighting, and fire leaped out of my mouth, from my gut.” Just a light cough seemed to shake him more than it should, a fist coming to his mouth in a feeble attempt to cover. “Just. Next time you do any prodding, warn me?”
「⚜ ✒」He snorted, but said nothing to that comment on the water. The fact that it was sealed was enough indication that nothing was added to it. Then again, magic could potentially manipulate it…just not his. Leo’s magic could not pass through plastic, much to his disdain.
“Sounds like nature’s angry at ye, or your own magic. I was preoccupied with sorting out the state of the shop to read on shamans further, though I did always perceive their laws to be stricter than even the witches. The name of the Guardian whom ye answer to evades me.” He scratched at his nape. “You may come to find ‘twas fortunate I did prod ye. Would ye rather face these changes alone?”
It was an unfair statement, one that was used on him before. He almost hated himself when he realized who had uttered such a reassurance to him and his face revealed the slightest bit of wariness before fading back into the calm he had learned to fixate upon his features.
