“Friends. We’re just friends.” The words were just a bit rushed, a bit too hasty to be one-hundred percent genuine. “He saved my life, I saved his, that whole knight in shining armor thing.” She was flustered, and she cleared her throat, trying not to think about how weird this whole thing was getting.
“He’s talked about you. All good things, don’t worry.” How could he not? Look at her. She’s gorgeous. There was a flare of something she didn’t want to identify in her stomach and she rested her hands on her hips.
The princess had grown up in a court of liars, jesters, and rampant gossip, and from those many lessons, she had learned a thing or ten about lying.
