miczariel:

She almost backed away from him. Almost. She had to force herself not to leave to go get help. Drag Bobby back here, anyone at the moment who would be better equipped than her. But she couldn’t do that. She couldn’t leave him, not like this, when he was so clearly not himself.

And that thought snapped pieces of the puzzle into place for her. Her fingers touched his knee lightly and for once her accented voice was soft, an attempt at calming. “What happened? Did they do something to you? Because I found some help. Not much because there isn’t much on these things but I know something that can hurt them.”

“Leo, please.” And then she said three words that she had never once said in all six hundred years of existance. “You’re scaring me.”

He swallowed the first burrito relatively quickly, and he was trying to tear open the second, disregarding her findings in favor of something to stop that dull ache in his belly. Maybe then he could sleep–

Those three words stopped him, brought back other memories, ones of a druid. Of a princess. Of a best friend. He tried for sigh but he came out like sob and he desperately shoved his hands through hardening hair. “Dunno but they’re inside my ‘ead,” he croaked. “M'tired but they won’t let me sleep. Starving. M’starving, Mic. M'craving…” His head shook just as his body did. “You need to leave me. There could be one inside me and I–I wouldn’t know, do ye understand? They’re going to find me. Least ye should try to run.” He shoved half the other burrito in his mouth, head dipped low.
